Andy, the leader of the band, fell in love with rock and roll growing up in the 60's. He performed with multiple rock bands in the 60's and early 70's until meeting up with Jon Book while attending medical school together. Soon after, they hooked up with Jon's college buddy, David, and the nucleus of Shrink The Deficit was formed.

 

Besides performing and recording with this band, Andy pursued a solo career in synthesizer-based instrumental compositions. He recorded several soundtracks for educational videos and was a featured artist on the Morning Edition Show of National Public Radio. His original compositions are still in the library of music used by that show.

 

Andy lives and works in Owings Mills, Maryland. He is the proud papa of two wonderful daughters,  the husband of Carol (his main inspiration), and the daddy of a 5 year old yellow Lab named Beau.
